The IEEE Student Branch University of Ioannina | Arta participated in the event "BioCatalyst: Igniting Ideas, Accelerating Innovation", which took place on October 14, 2025 in Ioannina, as part of Startup Week Greece 2025, in collaboration with Startup Greece and JOIST Innovation Park.

BioCatalyst is an initiative that aims to bridge science and entrepreneurship, accelerate innovation, and create the right environment for developing ideas that can change the world — just as a catalyst accelerates and transforms a chemical reaction.

The event brought together members of the academic community, researchers, entrepreneurs, and student groups, creating a fertile ground for dialogue and exchange of ideas on innovation, biotechnology, and entrepreneurship.

In the context of the round table discussion "Students as BioCatalysts", the IEEE Student Branch University of Ioannina | Arta was represented by
👉 Christos Notis, Social Media Manager of the student group, who participated in the discussion alongside students from interdisciplinary teams and founders of startup companies, highlighting the role of students as catalysts for innovation and social change.
