The IEEE Student Branch of the University of Ioannina – Arta would like to express its warm congratulations to the Associate Professor of the Department of Informatics and Telecommunications of the University of Ioannina and Counselor of the IEEE Student Branch UOI | Arta, Mr. Nikolaos Giannakeas, for being awarded the Research Excellence Award by the University of Ioannina.

Mr. Giannakas, beyond his important and internationally recognized research work in the fields of Human-Computer Interaction, Immersive Technologies (XR), and digital innovation, actively and substantially supports the student community, guiding and encouraging members of the IEEE Student Branch in their engagement with research, technology, and volunteerism.

His award is a source of inspiration for students and members of the IEEE Student Branch, highlighting the importance of scientific excellence, consistency, and connecting academic knowledge with society.
